Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance Celebrates 16th Annual Stand Up for Madeline and OCRFA

kahn_madelineThe Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance (OCRFA) and Carolines on Broadway celebrated sixteen years of the Stand Up for Madeline and OCRFA, an evening of laughter in tribute to the legendary Madeline Kahn, on May 15 at the club.   Hosted by Bob the Drag Queen, who was crowned “America’s Next Drag Superstar” on the hit reality show RuPaul’s Drag Race last year, the show featured stand-up performances by comedy stalwarts including The View‘s Joy Behar, comedy legend Robert Klein, two-time Emmy winner Judy Gold, Des Bishop, Tim Dillon and Tom Thakkar.

OCRFA Executive Committee Chair John Hansbury, Esq., opened the festivities with a hilarious and touching tribute video to his wife — the late, great Madeline Kahn — before opening up a live auction presided over by Judy Gold, which included vacations to the Bahamas and the Dominican Republic, Yankees tickets with access to the Jim Beam Suite, a table at Rao’s, a Michael Kors tote bag and an original photogram silhouette by artist Adam Fuss, among other coveted items.

The OCRFA is the largest global organization dedicated to fighting ovarian cancer.  OCRFA advances research to prevent, treat and defeat ovarian cancer, supports women and their families before, during and beyond diagnosis, and works with all levels of government to ensure ovarian cancer is a priority.
