Leah Bonnema is a Stand-Up Comic in New York City. Huffington Post recently named her one of their ‘~Favorite 53 Female Comedians’  and College Candy listed Leah as one the ‘~Ten Funniest Female Comics.’  She has been featured on WeTV’ s ‘~Cinematherapy,’  The BBC, Sirius-XM Radio (Patrice O’ Neal’ s ‘~The Black Philip Show’  on Opie and Anthony’ s Virus Channel, Maxim Radio and OutQ) and she has opened for comedy legends Paul Mooney, Pat Cooper and Gilbert Gottfried. Leah has had the honor of performing for the troops in Iraq, toured throughout the Middle East and performed for the US Marines at the famed Friar’ s Club. She was a finalist in the ‘~New York’s Funniest’ Competition during the NY Comedy Festival at renowned Caroline’ s on Broadway and has just returned from featuring on the ‘~America Stands Up Showcase’  at the Magner’s Glasgow Comedy Festival in Scotland. Leah’ s solo show ‘~Wake Up and Yell at Me’  debuted at the People’s Improv Theater and she produces and hosts ‘~Paws for a Cause’  an annual comedy benefit for the animals of New York City. Leah is the regular Sunday blogger for Crazytown and was chosen to perform the closing monologue at a staging of Eve Ensler’s ‘~A Memory, a Monologue, a Rant and a Prayer’  at New York City’s Manhattan Theater. Leah hails from the mountains of Maine and got her degree in Honors Cultural Studies and Women’ s Studies at McGill University in Montreal. This year Holly Pinafore Magazine featured Leah as their ‘It Girl’ and described her as ”A New York City comic, the kind that leaves a trail of ‘Oh-my-gosh did she just say that?’ in her wake.
