Martinis & Murder Podcast
Martinis & Murder is a weekly true crime podcast hosted by John Thrasher and Daryn Carp. Launched in January, 2017, the podcast quickly made the “New & Noteworthy” section of iTunes and peaked at #57 on the iTunes’ chart of the Top 100 Podcasts in the U.S.
From serial killers to mysterious disappearances to infamous murder cases, John and Daryn break down one murder over the course of one or two episodes, making heavy subject matter a little more palatable by not checking their senses of humor at the door. Freshly shaken martinis also help. Spending hours on research per case, John and Daryn not only tell the narrative of each murder but also delve into compelling and little- known facts about the lives of each killer and victim. What was the motivation? Was the killer a psychopath or a sane person who simply snapped? What was the impact on the victim’s family, friends and community?
As a former NBC Page rocking the grey suit made famous by Kenneth on 30 Rock, Daryn Carp assists pop culture icon Andy Cohen with Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live.” Daryn has created web series and appeared in on-air spots for Bravo—and she’s hosted pilots for Oxygen Media. John Thrasher is a Sr. Digital Producer for Oxygen. He has extensive experience in fan- engaging digital projects, including hosting and producing the former No. 1 Glee podcast “Glee Chat” from 2011 to 2016.
About Special Guest Michelle Collins
Michelle Collins is a comedian first, a host second, and a writer when times get really tough. Most random people on the subway recognize her as the 15th host of The View’s 19th season, while other times, people remember Michelle for her turn as one of the drivers on VH1′s Walk of Shame Shuttle, a hidden camera vehicle (literally) where she interviewed local Californians doing the Walk of Shame while kindly driving them home. Last summer, she hosted ABC’s After Paradise, a live after-show for their hit summer franchise Bachelor In Paradise. She also hosted Little Talk Live, Lifetime’s Little Women: LA after show, and most recently was the host of Date Night Live, also on Lifetime, where she and two experts commented on awkward first dates live while they were happening, as well as All My Gay Friends Are Getting Married for ABCd.
Michelle is a contributor to Elle and Vanity Fair, where she has also hosted their Vanity Fair Oscar Party live carpet for the past few years. She got her start as the Managing Editor of VH1′s BestWeekEver blog, a website that garnered her two Webby’s she dusts approx 2x/year.
