OCFRA 15th annual Stand up for Madeline & OCRFA, an evening of laughter in tribute to Madeline Kahn

Madeline Kahn

The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance and Carolines on Broadway celebrated fifteen years of raising awareness and funds together through Stand up for Madeline & OCRFA, an evening of laughter in tribute to Madeline Kahn, who died in 1999 from the disease, on Tuesday, May 16.

Madeline Kahn was an actress, singer, and comedian who dedicated over 40 years of her life to her craft. She spread laughter and joy through her work dating from the early sixties up until her passing in 1999.

Among those providing the laughs at the Times Square comedy hotspot on May 16 were comedy legend Robert Klein, two-time Emmy winner Judy Gold, long-running SNL cast member and resident Trump impersonator Darrell Hammond; trial-judge-turned-comedian Vince August, Liza Treyger, Neko White and one of Ireland’s most popular comedians, Des Bishop.

Gold also hilariously presided over a live auction that included items such as signed Rangers and Mets jerseys, tickets to the 2016 PGA championship, a Dominican Republic vacation and a table Rao’s, which garnered the evening’s highest bid at $10,000.  The event raised nearly $140,000.
