On January 17, Gloria Steinem and Kathy Najimy joined other die-hard supporters of “Sisters of Comedy,” New York City’s longest running comedy show that features black women at its center, to celebrate the show’s fourth anniversary at Carolines on Broadway. The Agunda Okeyo-produced event featured special guest of honor, political activist Linda Sarsour, the former executive director of the Arab American Association of New York who served as co-chair of the 2017 Women’s March. Stand-out stand-ups Chanel Ali, Michelle Buteau, Chloe Hilliard, Janelle James and Joyelle Johnson kept the crowd laughing all night.
