Melanie Comarcho

Melanie Comarcho was born in Chicago and raised in Inglewood, California. After high school she entered the Military (Army), and once honorably discharged she returned home. Melanie worked as an assembler/technician at Hughes Aircraft Co. in El Segundo, CA. Soon after, she married and had two daughters.

Shortly after entering comedy on a dare, she was spotted by producers of Def Comedy Jam. Melanie was laid-off from her job at Hughes Aircraft the day she taped her first Def Comedy Jam.

She later went on a Def Comedy Jam tour and won favorite stand-up female (Soul Train Comedy Awards) that year. She has a style that makes others take notice and a woman’s point of view.

Melanie has been the opening act for some of the hottest tours in the country like Chris Tucker, Maxwell, Martin Lawrence, and Katt Williams. She was the first stand-up that Chris Rock featured on his late night talk show. She also gives back by doing Fundraisers for Magic Johnson, Alonzo Morning, Ray Lewis and more.

Melanie can currently be seen in the Amazon Original documentary series Phat Tuesdays. Additionally, she has appeared in the film Boosters, First Sunday and in her self-produced stand-up special “Melanie Comarcho: Hello!”

Other credits include Snoop Dogg’s F*Cn Around Comedy Special, The D.L. Hughley Show, The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Last Comic Standing, Def Comedy Jan 25 and BET’s ComicView, among others.

Melanie was quoted as saying, “I’ve raised my two daughters, seen the world, and met some really cool people doing this. I love my job!”
