It was announced earlier today by Entertainment Weekly that NBC’s hit-comedy Undateable, which second season premieres tonight at 9 p.m. EST, will air its first live episode on May 5.  The show will record two live broadcasts of the episode for East Coast and West Coast audiences.

As Entertainment Weekly points out, NBC is no stranger to the live sitcom format. Tina Fey’s hit show 30 Rock aired two live episodes during it’s seven season run and last year it was announced that the network was developing a live sitcom.
